Ninety-eight percent of internet traffic in PNG that goes to Facebook are Digicel network users, says Digicel PNG Managing Director Mobile Shivan Bhargava.
Speaking during the launch of Digicel’s latest promotion in Port Moresby, Bhargava said since the launch of free Facebook mode by Digicel PNG for its internet users, the market has dominated the internet traffic going to Facebook.
Free Facebook Mode was launched on July 24 this year.
Bhargava said over the last three months, Digicel PNG took note of customers’ grievances and has come up with three wantok festival offers that will run in the month of October.
The 1Tok crazy offer includes a Happy Hour offer which customers can have 60 minutes of talk time to any local Digicel number and as many times as they want at the price of K2.
The second offer is the weekend pass offer. At a price of K3 prepaid, custoners will get 50 minutes of talk time and 50 SMS messages to any local Digicel number.
The third 1Tok crazy offer is the SMS Pass offer where customers pay K1.20 for 60 local SMS for 24 hours.
All these offers are now available through the Digicel treats menu and can be accessed by dialing *675#.These offers only run in the month of October.
Bhargava said stress testing on the network was done prior to the launch and assured users that there will be no stress on the Digicel network from the promotions.
