Bongo,Shampoo Theft Lands Employee in Trouble

A 33 year old man is in the custody of Police after a local wholesale company lodged a complaint to the Apia Police station about one of its employees allegedly stealing company products.

The accused allegedly stole two boxes of Bongo’s worth $64.40, and a box of shampoo worth $171.80. and he has been charged with theft as a servant.

Police spokesperson, Maotoalii Kaioneta Aliisolia says thefts are on the rise and its proper that the Police address them, no matter how big or small.

“We apprehended the man on the 12th of this month after the company called in to lodge the complaint. The accused is set to stand trial on the first of August to the charges of theft as a servant,” said Maota.

Maota says while the case may seem like a funny incident, it’s an issue police are discouraging within workplaces.

“We have also charged a shop from out of town for accepting these products with charges of stealing stolen properties,” said Maota.

“We take these matters seriously because even the stores these products get sold to are to be involved in the crime, even if they don’t know it. So therefore always be careful who you buy things from especially when they are suspicious,” added Maota.
