Chinese Embassy donates rugby gear

The Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union and Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, received a donation from the Chinese Ambassador, Wang Xuefang, for the development of rugby in Samoa.

"This is the first time the Chinese Embassy has opted to assist us with our rugby efforts, and we thank you for this donation to assist with our rugby developments," said Prime Minister Tuilaepa.

Ambassador Wang said the Chinese Embassy would like to do more and have greater cooperation with Samoa and rugby is another way for China to assist.

A donation of $25,000 tala, rugby balls and other sports gear was handed over to the Samoa Rugby Union on Monday.
