Samoa inmates mark Easter with family

Samoa's Prisons and Correctional Services has allowed inmates of three prisons to celebrate Easter with their families and friends.

RNZI reports the meeting has been held in the presence of a Supreme Court judge and two government ministers.

About 100 selected prisoners also took part in an activity held at Tafa'igata prison in which inmates performed a drama demonstrating the crucifixion of Christ.

The assistant commissioner of Prisons and Correctional services, Sagaga Galu Frost, said such activities created some changes in the inmates' conduct.
