Samoa to participate in World Water Leaders Summit

Samoa’s Cabinet has approved the participation by Deputy Prime Minster and also Minister for Natural Resources and Environment, Afioga Fiame Naomi Mataafa at the World Water Leaders Summit in Singapore on 10 – 12 July 2016.

The meeting will focus on issues pertaining to the preservation and good distribution of water resources.

Samoa’s participation will reaffirm its support for the importance of water resources in small island states, and this is ample opportunity for our country to further showcase its developments and plans for the preservation and good distribution of this important resource.

The meeting will also showcase Samoa’s drive to support the Integrated Water Resources Management Ridge to Reef initiative.

The ACEO of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Susuga Malaki Iakopo is accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister to the meeting.
