Trampler likes what he sees in NZ's world heavyweight contender Parker

The world's most famous boxing promoter is interested in the services of Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker.

Under Bob Arum, Top Rank Boxing has guided the careers of the likes of Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Manny Pacquaiao, Floyd Mayweather and George Foreman.

Matchmaker Bruce Trampler said that Parker is a talent it couldn't pass up.

"We would love to be involved with Joseph Parker," he said.

"There are not too many Joseph Parkers' in the world, and you have to rank him as one of the best young heavyweights in the world."

Regardless of the result of Parker's tilt at the WBO heavyweight title on December 10, Trampler said the Kiwi would still be a wanted commodity.

"We would be interested [in Parker] win, lose or draw. He is a terrific fighter who is nowhere near his peak in ability yet.

"He is a young heavyweight. Kevin Barry has done a wonderful job bringing him along and teaching him his trade."

Trampler, who along with his boss, Arum, will be in New Zealand for Parker's fight with Top Rank's Andy Ruiz, believes it's almost impossible to call the result of the fight.

"With the hometown advantage the favourite would be Joseph [Parker].

"I can tell you if they fought on neutral turf it would be a 'pick'em' fight in my opinion, and I wouldn't be surprised if Andy [Ruiz] comes home with the victory."

The 24-year-old Kiwi and Barry made a recent visit to Top Rank's Las Vegas headquarters to meet with Arum, and Trampler said they were excited with what they saw.

Trampler said he believes Top Rank's pedigree would serve the Kiwi well in the future.

"We have a history of being able to take fighters from one level to the next to their ultimate peak.

"We would be honored to somehow, someway be involved with Joseph Parker, Duco and Kevin Barry."
