China donates vehicles to help Samoa host Pacific Forum leaders

The People’s Republic of China has donated new vehicles to help Samoa to host the Pacific Forum Leaders meeting in Apia next month.

Twenty vehicles will help the government to provide transportation for the Pacific Leaders who will be attending the 48th annual Pacific Forum Leaders Summit.

The vehicles have arrived with an official handing over next week.

According to the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Press Secretary, Cabinet has also approved a budget of $1.1 million tala to host the Forum Leaders Meeting which starts from September 4th to the 8th.

Australia and New Zealand have also donated AUS$200,000 equivalent to $400,000 tala and NZ$200,000 or close to $345,000 respectively to assist Samoa host the event.

The annual forum will be attended by Pacific leaders and high-level government officials from 18 Pacific Forum countries.

There will also be meetings with Forum Observers and Forum Dialogue Partners.

About 350 to 450 delegates including the regional and international media as well as non-government organisations will also be attending.
