Japan assists with reconstruction of Samoa’s Taelefaga Primary School

The Government of Japan has funded the successful upgrading of Taelefaga Primary School in Va’a o Fonoti district.

Maugaoleatuolo Shinya Aoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Samoa handed over the project to the school at a recent ceremony.

The total fund of 224, 163.52 SAT was provided to the school committee under Japan’s Grand Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) last year in December.

The current school building had experienced constant leakage of water from the Southern side that rendered 4 classrooms that are believed to be unusable for most of the times throughout the year and had caused deteriorations to its’ toilet facilities.

It is hope with Japan’s funded project that will prevent the problem of having the classrooms unusable all year round and to improve learning facilities for a safer and healthier environment for all students.
