Over 30 small earthquakes recorded in Apia

A total of small 32 earthquakes between magnitudes of 2.5 and 3.7 on the Richter scale have been recorded in Apia from the vicinity of the Tutuila and Manu’a Islands Group in the last 24 hours.

The Samoa Meteorology Division reported that the distance of these earthquakes is about 150 kilometers south east of Apia at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

“There is no threat of tsunami generated from these earthquake events, however these earthquake events are continuously monitored for any tsunami or volcanic eruption that may occur.”
