Speaker of Samoa’s Legislative Assembly meets NZ parliamentarians

Speaker of the Samoan Legislative Assembly, Leaupepe Taimaaiono Toleafoa Faafisi visited Wellington as a guest of NZ Parliament.

The Speaker led a delegation of four Samoan Members of Parliament to discuss and exchange views with NZ parliamentarians.

"As a Pacific nation, with a Pacific and Polynesian identity, NZ is enriched by our large and vibrant Samoan community. This was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the warm, multi-faceted special relationship between NZ and Samoa", he said.

The group also visited Victoria University last week, meeting with Assistant Vice Chancellor (Pasifika), Luamanuvao Winnie Laban and Samoan students studying at Victoria University under NZ's scholarships programme.
