Daniel Vidot asked to perform Siva Tau during WWE trials

The newest Samoan on the entertainment scene says he was asked to perform the Siva Tau during his trial for the WWE.

Former NRL player Daniel Vidot will travel to the US next month to begin training as the WWE's newest character - the Samoan Ghost.

Vidot has played over 100 first-grade NRL games representing the Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos and the Gold Coast Titans.

He's also played for Toa Samoa where he learnt the Siva Tau.

He says during his trial with about 40 other people, they requested he perform the Samoan war chant.

"The main instructor said, 'Stop stop stop. Daniel, do you know how to do the Samoan haka?' I said, 'Yeah the Siva Tau'."

"On demand... Everyone was watching... Triple H."

"I was lucky enough to lead the Siva Tau so I knew the words... pulled it out and I think they loved it."

"Thanks Frank Pritchard for giving me that chance to learn all the words."

Vidot and a few others sealed a contract with WWE, to which he says he's extremely grateful for.

"It's definitely a risk moving over there and giving something else a try... it's nerve-wrecking and scary... I'm excited for my new journey."
