One of the longest-serving members of the Titans and the club's all-time leading try-scorer, Mead advised teammates that he would be joining Brisbane on a one-year deal immediately after the Broncos ended their season in the elimination final last Friday.

He followed that up with an Instagram post on the Saturday morning confirming the move but has declined the opportunity to speak about his decision until now.

The Broncos sit in fourth place after the first game of the final round, but will be overtaken by North Queensland if the Cowboys beat the Titans on Saturday.

Canterbury is also an outside chance of passing last year's runners-up, but would need to beat South Sydney by 45 points on Friday to make that happen.

Regardless of how it ends up, Brisbane will happily take the two points for a fifth-straight week although the performance left a bit to be desired with the playoffs looming.

Su'A debuted for the Broncos in Round 12 against the Wests Tigers, replacing the Origin-bound Matt Gillett, and the exciting forward received his second start for Brisbane last weekend in the Broncos' 40-14 loss to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. 

In the process, Su'A became the youngest forward to start a match in the nearly three-decade history of the Broncos.

At just age 18 and 216 days, Su'A has already made his impact at the club and if it wasn't for a shoulder injury in the Holden Cup in Round 13, he may have already had more than two NRL matches to his name. 

The Broncos' captain will retire at the end of the 2016 NRL season, with his illustrious career including 17 games for Queensland, 13 for Australia and 336 for Brisbane. 

These totals are set to rise, with Parker ready to take on the Blues in Game Two of Holden State of Origin in what will most likely be his second last game in Maroon. 

Wednesday night will now be Parker's representative farewell at his home ground, adding to Queensland's motivation to claim their 10th Origin series win in 11 years. 

The Broncos struggled for field position all night, greatly missing the six players out of the match on State of Origin duty. 

Eighteen-year-old Jaydn Su'A made his debut alongside fellow debutant, 20-year-old Tevita Pangai Jnr, and the Broncos also had 20-year-olds Joe Ofahengaue and Jai Arrow in their side. 

The young Broncos forward pack were no match for the experience of the Tigers' big men, but Bennett says they will be better for it. 

It's this tough love from Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett that has seen Corey Oates go from a lanky country boy to a Queensland Origin player in a matter of 18 months.

Bennett may have not yet complimented Oates since returning to the club in 2015, but the master coach has brought out the best in the 21-year-old, with Oates enjoying his best season and a half of football yet, cementing his position on Brisbane's wing. 

But Bennett is not the only person Oates can thank, with the Baralaba Panthers junior owing a lot to his loving parents Warren and Jeanette. 

This comes after a head knock kept him out of the second half of Friday night's 19-18 NRL Telstra Premiership loss to the Cowboys.

It was carnage on the Brisbane bench, with Corey Parker the sole available interchange at one point in the game's latter stages.

Oates (concussion), hooker Andrew McCullough (shoulder), bench prop Jarrod Wallace (elbow) and centre Jack Reed (head knock) all suffered injury setbacks amid a thrilling, topsy-turvy second half.
