The actor spoke to reporters Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, and he was asked about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee and what a Trump White House would look like.

"There's not going to be a President Donald Trump," Clooney stated. "That's not going to happen. Fear is not going to be ... what drives our country. We're not going to be scared of Muslims or immigrants or women. We're not actually afraid of anything. We're not going to use fear. So that's not going to be an issue."

As Mitt Romney locked up the Republican nomination after 14 weeks of contests, he saw his ratings rise as Republican rallied behind their standard bearer, giving him a 4-point bounce and bringing the race against President Obama into a tie.

On a campaign swing through Puerto Rico Tuesday, the former president was asked by a reporter whether he had any response to Trump's latest attack on Twitter -- alluding to his past infidelities and charging that he was the "worst abuser" of women in U.S. political history.

Trump's plan for an overhaul of the U.S. tax code would eliminate federal income taxes on individuals earning less than $25,000 and married couples earning less than $50,000. He said those individuals would receive "a new one page form to send the IRS saying, 'I win.'"

Trump's plan would also disproportionally benefit wealthy earners by lowering the highest income tax rate from 39.6 percent to 25 percent, and businesses by cutting their tax rate — from major corporations to mom-and-pop shops — to no more than 15 percent.

He says his tax plan will reduce rates for lower and middle-income families as well as corporations, while increasing rates for some, like hedge fund managers who he says don't pay enough.

It's a plan the billionaire businessman has been touting for weeks as he's come under increased scrutiny for failing to outline specific policy platforms as he's risen to the top of GOP polls.

Louise Burke, president and publisher of Threshold Editions, made the announcement today, and explained that the currently untitled book, which is scheduled for publication on Oct. 27, will outline how a crippled America could be restored to greatness, according to Trump.
