Parker confident he can beat Fury

Parker, who's preparing for a fight against 6'8" American Daniel Martz this weekend, watched Briton Tyson Fury's shock win over Wladimir Klitschko for the world title earlier this week.

The 23-year-old who has Samoan ancestry is undefeated in his 16 professional fights and is confident he could beat Fury or Klitschko.

Parker title fight not be far away

Tyson Fury's upset win over Wladimir Klitschko has thrown the heavyweight division wide open.

The Briton now holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

Parker is ranked fifth in the WBO and his trainer Kevin Barry says Fury is likely to concentrate on just one belt, which could open opportunities for others.

Joseph Parker who has Samoan ancestry takes on the towering 6'7" American Daniel Martz in Hamilton this weekend.

Parker looking to scale 'The Mountain’

The 23 year old boxing sensation will encounter 6’8” American, Daniel “The Mountain” Martz at the Burger King Fight for Life in Hamilton on December 5 before focusing on rugged American southpaw, Jason Bergman at the ‘Sifa presents the Burger King Rumble in Paradise’ in Samoa on January 23.

Martz will be the tallest opponent Parker has ever faced while the Bergman fight will be his first professional bout against a left-hander.

Both fights promise to be fascinating acid tests for the kiwi-born Samoan with Martz having a proven reputation as ‘a mauler and a brawler.’
