US rapper Kanye West disappears from social media

The reasons why were unclear but last November he ended a tour early.

He had accused fellow rapper Jay-Z of trying to kill him and walked off stage after announcing he would vote for Donald Trump.

His wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, remains on Twitter and has 51m followers.

She has been promoting her and her husband's children's clothing line.

Shortly after West's accounts were deactivated, she tweeted that he had hand drawn a logo for the clothing line.

Fans responded by pleading with her to persuade her husband to return.

John Legend: Kanye West and Donald Trump meeting 'a publicity stunt'

The rapper visited Trump Tower earlier this week. Mr Trump said they had discussed "life".

Legend, a close friend of West, told French media outlet Clique the pair's meeting was "disappointing".

"I don't think it's impossible to talk to [Trump] about issues, but I won't be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt," he said.

Legend was mentored by West at the beginning of his career, and has collaborated with the rapper and producer several times.

Has Kanye put back his presidential bid to 2024?

He hasn't been on social media as much since being treated in hospital last month.

The rapper posted to explain his meeting with President-elect Donald Trump , saying it was "to discuss multicultural issues".

However, his final post just said "#2024" - thought to be a nod to his own ambitions to run for president.

Kanye West meets with Donald Trump at Trump Tower

Trump spoke to reporters with West by his side, calling the rapper a "good man" and telling journalists that they have been "friends for a long time."

West would not discuss the details of the meeting ignored questions about whether he plans on performing at Trump's inauguration. He also ignored a question about whether he wishes he had voted for Trump.

"I just want to take a picture right now," West said, smiling.

"You take care of yourself, I'll see you soon," Trump told West.

Fans believe J Cole's new song attacks Kanye and his recent breakdown

Fans say one of the tracks, False Prophets, could be about Kanye West and his recent behaviour.

West was released from an LA hospital yesterday after apparently being treated for exhaustion.

"Ego in charge of every move, he's a star. And we can't look away due to the days that he caught our hearts," raps J Cole.

The pair have collaborated in the past and J Cole has spoken of his admiration for Kanye West.

Although he doesn't name Kanye directly, he does appear to criticise "someone" for becoming self-obsessed.

Prayers for Kanye West

West entered UCLA Medical Center Monday after abruptly canceling the remaining dates for his Saint Pablo concert tour.

A source close to West's family told CNN that the rapper is being treated for "exhaustion."

His admittance came after several days of making headlines for his behavior including rants and refunds to concertgoers after he ended a show early.

Fans and fellow celebrities expressed concern for West and his mental state on social media.

Kanye West 'hospitalised following disturbance call'

A police spokesperson told the BBC they had received a "disturbance call" on Monday afternoon, but did not name the singer.

The disturbance was later deemed a medical incident, he said, and the fire department responded.

A spokesman for the LA Fire Department said an unnamed man had been taken to hospital for "further assessment".

"At 13:20 Pacific Time, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an unspecified medical aid request," a spokesperson for the service said.

Kanye West cancels entire Saint Pablo tour following stage rant

The star had performed just three songs on Saturday night, before embarking on an unscripted rant, criticising Facebook, Jay Z and Hillary Clinton.

He also claimed Beyonce would only agree to play the MTV Awards if she was given the video of the year prize.

After cancelling Sunday's show in LA, West has now scrapped all future dates.

"Tickets will be fully refunded within 5-7 business days," promoters Live Nation tweeted.

Frank Ocean shuns Grammys

That's because the singer decided not to submit his long awaited sophomore album, "Blonde," for consideration.

Ocean, who rarely grants interviews, told the New York Times that despite having won two Grammys in 2013, he's not interested this time around.

"That institution certainly has nostalgic importance," he said. "It just doesn't seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down."

Kanye West fans throw support behind rapper's White House bid after Trump victory

In the wake of Wednesday's shock election result, hundreds of fans took to Twitter to call on the hip hop star to make good on his promise to run for office and to pledge their support.

They say that with Republican Donald Trump — a reality television star with no prior experience in office — now headed for the White House, a West presidency might not be as inconceivable as once thought.

"If Trump was able to become president, then for sure Kanye will win in 2020," tweeted Lele Pons.
