Murder conviction

Pistorius could be up for parole

He is eligible for possible release after having served half his sentence.

But he first has to take part in a "restorative justice" process.

Pistorius shot Steenkamp dead in 2013 saying he mistook her for a burglar at his home in the capital, Pretoria.

The 34-year-old fired four times through a locked toilet door.

In 2014, he was given a five-year term for manslaughter.

But Pistorius was found guilty of murder on appeal in 2015 and the sentence was later increased to 13 years and five months.

Samoan man sentenced to life for murder of colleague

Tualai Sili Lu'uga admitted killing Vaepa'a Seiuli at his house at Afulilo, on Upolu.

The Samoa Observer reported that a fight broke out between Mr Seiuli and his brother, and Lu'uga intervened.

Lu'uga told police he was punched multiple times by Mr Seiuli, who threatened to kill him with a machete.

When the machete was brandished, he said he ran to his house to get weapons before going to Mr Seuili's house to stab him multiple times.

Pistorius case to be heard by Supreme Court on Nov. 3

The Supreme Court announced the date on Tuesday. The court said the appeal by prosecutors against Pistorius' acquittal for murder for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp will be heard by a panel of five judges.

Pistorius was found guilty of a lesser charge of manslaughter for shooting Steenkamp through a toilet door in his home in 2013.

Prosecutors say Judge Thokozile Masipa made errors at Pistorius' murder trial last year and want the Supreme Court to re-examine her verdict.
