NSW Blues set to switch up forward pack for State of Origin decider

NSW are set to switch up their starting forward pack once again before the State of Origin decider at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday.

After first being overlooked for game three, NRL.com reports David Klemmer is set to start alongside Newcastle teammate Daniel Saifiti.

The change-up means St George Illawarra prop Paul Vaughan will go back to the bench like he did in Origin II.

Manly’s Jake Trbojevic will stay at lock despite being moved to prop in game two, while Melbourne workhorse Dale Finucane will come off the bench instead of starting like he did in Perth.

Klemmer was originally left out of the team after Blues coach Brad Fittler remained loyal to the same 17 players that won 38-6 in game two.

But after Tariq Sims copped a one-match ban at the judiciary, Klemmer was reinstated.

Fittler was also forced to find a new halfback after Nathan Cleary succumbed to an ankle injury, with Mitchell Pearce to make his first Origin appearance since 2017.

Likely NSW line-up: 1. James Tedesco, 2. Blake Ferguson, 3. Tom Trbojevic, 4. Jack Wighton, 5. Josh Addo-Carr, 6. James Maloney, 7. Mitchell Pearce, 8. Daniel Saifiti, 9. Damien Cook, 15. David Klemmer, 11. Boyd Cordner, 12. Tyson Frizell, 13. Jake Trbojevic. Interchange: 10. Paul Vaughan, 14. Dale Finucane, 16. Cameron Murray, 17. Wade Graham.
