Next week four Australian buyers will learn first-hand what makes the products from Samoa so special.
The buyers are part of Pacific Trade Invest Australia’s business mission delegation and will be in Samoa from Tuesday 9 – Friday 12 October.
Mona Mato, Export Services Manager, PTI Australia said the delegates were excited to connect with businesses in Samoa and understand where and how the products are sourced and made.
“To tell a buyer about Samoa is one thing, however to allow the buyer to be immersed and to see firsthand how and where Samoa’s exports are produced and where the raw materials are sourced is so valuable to create a connection with the country, business and its people.
“Buyers knowing and understanding the stories behind these products and industries make these connections so invaluable”
An important part of the business mission is PTI Australia’s Business Forum that will be held on Tuesday, 9 October. The Business Forum will provide an opportunity for businesses to connect and also learn directly from the buyers and other in the delegation.
“As part of PTI Australia’s Business Forum, we will have panel discussions so exporters can understand what buyers are looking for and the Australian buyers can get a understanding of the potential in the Samoa market. Our buying delegation are interested in a diverse range of products from cacao and food products to beauty and skin-care products. Following the Business Forum we are facilitating two days of intensive business to business meetings for the delegation to connect directly to business.
“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Samoa’s fantastic exports and to facilitate a direct relationship between the Australian buyers and exporter in Samoa” said Mr Mato.
PTI Australia’s Business Forum is part of PTI Australia’s Business Mission to Samoa. The mission is being led by PTI Australia’s Trade & Investment Commissioner, Caleb Jarvis in partnership with the Samoa High Commission to Australia. PTI Australia is bringing to Samoa a delegation of buyers, impact investors, Pacific diaspora and labour mobility executives with the aim of deepening the delegations understanding of the Samoa market and creating connections between the Australian delegation and the private and public sector in Samoa to create positive tangible outcomes.
