Hughie Fury believes he has the mental strength and boxing smarts to beat Joseph Parker and win the WBO world heavyweight title.
Parker defends his belt for the first time when he takes on Parker in Auckland on May 6.
In a division dominated by huge fighters like Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, Parker continues to work on his physique and strength.
He will give away height and reach to Fury, but will have a decisive edge in weight and power.
Fury brushed the disadvantages aside when talking to iNEWS in Britain ahead of his imminent departure for Auckland.
"Parker is a big lump, well built, but that is not everything. They can have muscles on them as much as they want, but it means nothing. It's all about skill and having a strong mind. Most of boxing is mental," Fury said.
"At the end of the day it's two men in there. It's last one standing and I believe I have the tools to beat him."
It's a brave fighter to question Parker's mental strength as the Kiwi dug deep to win his two most important fights last year - 12 rounders against Carlos Takam in an IBF eliminator and the WBO title effort against Mexican Andy Ruiz where he fought back over the second half of the bout to claim the coveted belt.
Feeling fit and fresh, Fury says he's ready to step out of the large shadow of his cousin Tyson Fury, the former world champion who vacated his belts as he battled depression and drugs use last year.
"I've just been quietly learning. I'm not interested in the limelight. I'm just interested in achieving my goals. I have been in the background, looking (at Tyson), studying everything and waiting for my time," Fury said to iNEWS.
"I have had my experience in camps, sparring when Tyson has been preparing for a world title. I have sparred the best in the world. That has been a good experience and the fights I have had have been against awkward opposition. They make you look bad but they bring you on.
"When you fight undefeated people its better, there are more openings because they want to win. In that sense it can be easier."
Parker is 22-0 with 18 KOs while Fury is also unbeaten over 20 fights, 10 having ended by KO.
Parker's promoter, David Higgins, is currently in Samoa trying to persuade their government to again provide financial backing for the fight after failing to garner local support for the fight night that will cost more than $5 million to stage.
