While Joseph Parker was fighting, Hughie Fury was out on the town in London

Hughie Fury was meant to be in Auckland challenging Joseph Parker for his WBO heavyweight title, instead he was out partying in London.

One-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury posted an Instagram picture of himself and his cousin at the weekend, with the tag "Me & @hughienew in London last night".

Hughie Fury had cried off a title challenge against Parker, citing a back injury. Promoters Duco had to find a hasty replacement, leading to an uninspiring first title defence against against stand-in opponent Razvan Cojanu on Saturday night.

Fury withdrew less than three weeks out from the title bout, leading to purse downgrades and the stress of finding an alternative fighter.

Parker originally stood to earn $2.4 million for a mandatory challenge against Hughie Fury but it is understood the fallout from the big Brit's 11th hour withdrawal ended up hitting Duco and Parker in the pocket hard.

While there was turmoil in New Zealand, Hughie Fury appeared well enough recovered from his back injury to be out and about, even managing a broad smile for the cameras.

Commentators on the posting highlighted his injury, "his back looks very sore", one said.
