Fiji win London 7s, regain World Series lead

Vilimoni Botitu opened the scoring with a third minute try before Aminiasi Tuimaba bagged a hat-trick to secure a 24-0 half-time buffer.

Joe Pincus pulled a try back for the Aussie 7s two minutes into the second spell before Fiji responded in kind through Josua Vakurunabili. Two tries in two minutes from Alasio Naduva sealed an emphatic victory as Gareth Baber's team made it back to back London titles and also confirmed their qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Motuga to boost Samoa’s campaign at the London 7s

Motuga is ranked third in the DHL Performance Tracker with 271 points behind Fiji’s Vilimoni Botitu in second with 272 points.

Connor Braid of the Wales team is currently in first place with 298 points.

Motuga has scored 51 tries and played 150 matches so far.

Winger Johnny Vaili is also the man to watch from Samoa after his successful appearance for the team.

He currently is the top try scorer in the team with 26 tries so far.

Samoa will take on France in their first pool game on Saturday before taking on Kenya on Sunday.

PNG Pukpuks touch down in NZ

The Hamilton 7s tournament is the fourth event of the 2017/2018 world sevens series.

Under the watchful eyes of coach Douglas Gusie, Pukpuks had to recover quickly from their Sydney sevens performance.

The Hamilton sevens is part of the HSBC World Sevens series that the PNG Pukpuks have qualified for this year.

Hamilton sevens action is set for the 3rd and 4th of February when the HSBC New Zealand Sevens takes over FMG Stadium at Waikato.
