Call for sackings over Samoa exam paper leak

TheĀ Samoa ObserverĀ reports the two educators are alleged to have improperly obtained papers before the exams were sat, giving them an unfair advantage over other schools.

Loau told the newspaper that a report from an internal investigation into the incidents recommended the officers be asked to resign from their posts.

But Loau said this was not acceptable and has called for the termination of any staff implicated in the incident.

Samoa university lecturer terminated for bogus qualifications

The termination was confirmed by the Minister of Education, Loau Keneti Sio, who told the Samoa Observer the man should never have been hired.

Loau said "due diligence was neglected" and the Samoa Qualifications Authority has confirmed not all his qualifications were authentic.

Embiruka Osborne Nyandiva was suspended in May pending an investigation.

That same month, he left Samoa and has not returned.
