Parker 'no threat' to Joshua

Parker's majority points decision win over Hughie Fury in Manchester on Sunday (NZ Time) was described as underwhelming by the boxing press.

"Although Parker improved to 24-0 [with 18 knockouts] he did nothing to suggest that he poses a serious threat to the top dog in the division, Anthony Joshua," a report on thesweetscience.com website said.

It described the bout as "a fight without an indelible moment [no surprise there]."

Parker hopes to sign off with a bang

The 24-year-old takes on American Southpaw Jason Bergman in Apia tonight hoping to extend his professional record to 18 and 0.

The Rumble in Paradise will be Parker's sixth fight in 10 months and he admits he's looking forward to a holiday once he's dealt with the business in the ring.

"I'm ready for a championship bout," Joseph Parker

"I’ve been ready, give me 11 weeks of training camp and I am all set to take on the best in the world," he said during an interview with Loop Samoa earlier today.
