Samoa Business Network hosts business trip to Samoa

The Samoa Business Network will host its first official business trip to Samoa with a delegation of 10 potential investors from New Zealand, Australia, USA, Fiji/NZ and American Samoa.

It will also mark the first official business delegation back to Samoa led by the new Samoa (NZ) Trade Commissioner le afioga Magele Mauiliu Magele.  Magele took up the appointment earlier this year after his predecessor Fonoti Dr Lafitai Fuatai finished his term.

The aim is to encourage more sustainable Pacific-owned businesses in the country as well as support Pasifika economic development.

"You know, we do have a Pacific community but half of the Pacific population are Samoan. I think Samoans have a standing in actually acknowledging that,” Laura Keil-Hall said.

“But in saying that, there's nothing wrong to also do similar initiatives for other Pacific nations.”

Miss Keil-Hall said she helped start the organisation in the hope of connecting and empowering Pacific entrepreneurs.
