Samoa Head of State attends King III Charles coronation

The celebrations featured customs dating back more than 1,000 years.

Several Pacific and Commonwealth leaders were also in London for the celebrations.

Afioga i le Ao Mamalu o le Malo and Masiofo were invited to the King’s reception for overseas representatives held at Buckingham Palace on Friday evening.

Prior to the reception they were also invited to events organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat at Malborough House.

Samoa's head of state, new university chancellor

He is the fourth Chancellor and third head of state to be conferred with the highest position since the establishment of the university in 1984.

The conferral ceremony was held on Wednesday.

Tuimaleali’ifano replaces A'eau Chris Hazelman who was the director of the Catholic schools in Samoa for many years.

"Christmas is the fulfillment of God’s promise of peace and love to humanity. It is the realization of His divine will for our lives, for God so loved the World that He gave his only begotten son, so whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

Samoa's Head of State delivers his final speech to the nation

It is also a new morning in the history of Samoa.

We salute you for the great honour that you have done us throughout the last ten years.

We pay tribute to the many people who have helped make our journey as Head of State a privilege; one we can never repay nor will ever forget.

We wish to open by giving special thanks to the Prime Minister, Cabinet and Parliament for the privilege of serving Samoa and her government as Head of State.

We have received countless blessings from this opportunity; an opportunity we will treasure for the rest of our lives. 

Samoa’s Head of State calls for government collaboration with village communities

His remarks were made in his official royal address to the country as Samoa heads into Christmas and New Year.

“This year, we have seen time and again the discovery of hard drugs, drugs paraphernalia, military-grade weapons, and so much more in Samoa. This is a warning sign that we must not miss going into the New Year,” he said.

“Our government, should be better connected to its people, because that what we are in need of. A strong collaboration between government and villages,” he added.

Samoa village welcomes back Head of State

His removal from the village was over the construction of a shelter which was built on the traditional grounds of the Tui Atua title holder that village council members said they had not been informed about.

A Commission of Inquiry was established following the dispute but later withdrawn following a request from the Head of State.
