Samoa trial for defeating the course of justice begins

Inspector Sala'a Salale, Elaine Ulia, Siliniu Lina Chang and Tumua Tofete face five charges of attempting to defeat the course of justice.

The witness testified on Monday that she had sought help from the Samoa Victim Support Group in 2012 because of an alleged indecent assault on her by the wife of a church minister in her village.

Samoa’s Organic Farm to Table hits the Caribbean

Village Beautification prizegiving to be held on Dec 10

The prizegiving for Upolu and Savaii at Tooa Salamasina Hall marks the work achieved by villages under the Samoa National Beautification Programme for 2015.

The programme – by the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development – aims to further strengthen the beautifying of villages and also maintaining of general hygienic standards in the country.

Samoa gets USD 7.6m more for 680-kW HPP

The financing facility includes a USD-5.06-million and USD-2.49-million equivalent grants from the European Union (EU) and the Government of New Zealand, respectively. While the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will administer both grants, the Government of Samoa will also provide USD 1.21 million in counterpart support, the former said in a statement on Friday.

Samoan Ulugia is set for return to Batley
