Three Wise Cousins

And now its Kiwi-born Samoan director is working to get his first feature film to more audiences across the Pacific and the US.

Aucklander Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa is the brains behind hit movie Three Wise Cousins.

It banked a massive $196,170 in its first week, and it's now sitting on $588,273 after four weeks playing around the country, which means it's still going strong.

The film follows a young New Zealand-Samoan man called Adam (Neil Amituanai) as he heads to the motherland in a bid to impress his crush Mary (Gloria Ofa Blake), who only likes "real" Pacific Island men.

The road though for the Director/ Producer of Three Wise Cousins Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa.

The self-funded, grassroots comedy, 'Three Wise Cousins' has made about US$200,000 in just two weeks.

It came in at number 7 at the New Zealand box office its first week, despite being shown at just eight cinemas throughout the country.
