Aaron Carter accidentally drowned after taking drugs

Carter, 34, the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California, on 5 November.

The autopsy has now revealed that his death was caused by drowning due to the effects of sedatives he had taken and gas he had inhaled.

Alprazolam, often sold under the brand name Xanax, was found in his system.

The compressed gas difluoroethane was also detected. The report describes it as a "gas commonly used as a propellant in air spray cleaners" which "can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled".

Fiji police recover bodies from a river

Fiji Village reports that police had earlier said the body of another child, aged 7, was recovered and the body of the 59-year-old woman that accompanied the two children were recovered on Saturday night.

Police have acknowledged the support of members of the community who came forward to assist with search efforts.

     

Samoa Police recover body of missing fisherman

The man went missing on Thursday while on a fishing trip.

The Ministry of Police and Prisons confirmed that Police divers found his body on Saturday reports Radio Polynesia.

Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services is continuing investigations into this matter.

Two Samoans drown in Palmerston North river

Police said the men were aged in the 30s and 40s and were from the same family.

The two bodies were recovered from the Manawatū River on Sunday afternoon.

Police received reports just after 5.30pm on Sunday that two men who were swimming in the river near Awapuni were missing.

Searchers recovered the men’s bodies a short time later at a nearby location just before dark.

Police are making enquires in relation to the deaths on behalf of the coroner, who will release their findings in due course.

Samoa Police investigate multiple drowning at Neiafu

 Police are searching for father of the two deceased, who is now believed to have drowned.

Around 1.30pm on Tuesday, officers at Asau Police Post responded to a call for assistance with regards to efforts in locating two boys and their father reported to have been washed away by the ocean at Neiafu.

According to Police, circumstances of the matter indicate that two brothers and their cousin went fishing on the lava rocks at Neiafu.

However, due to high tide and strong sea surge one of the boys was caught by waves.

Another child survived, and is currently receiving medical care at the pediatric ward.

Two police officers who helped in the rescue had also been admitted for treatment.
