MSG countries explore wider export markets

Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) was formed in 1986 with a focus on promoting economic growth among Melanesian countries. It is headquartered in Port Vila, Vanuatu. MSG member countries form the bulk of the Pacific Island population are larger in size and richer in natural resources than Polynesian island nations.

SAME Opens Market for Samoa Food and Beverage Products in Japan

A delegation from an American-Japanese exporter company led by the grand-daughter of the late Tofilau Eti Alesana, former Prime Minister of Samoa, met with SAME to explore the possibility of sourcing Samoan products that can be sold in Japan.

 “We’re very happy with the outcome. They were very happy with the showcase of products, coconut, cocoa, chocolate, coconut oil, and we’re also encouraging the push for Vailima Beverage, Taula because they showed interest in them,” said SAME CEO Tagaloa Eddie Wilson.
