'It's a film that everyone can enjoy'

The film premiered Tuesday night at the Wellington's Embassy Theatre and will make its first Auckland appearance on Wednesday night at the Hoyts Theatre in Sylvia Park.

Set during the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the comedy follows a group of Tongan fans who form a brass band as the pre-game entertainment in a desperate attempt to get tickets.

"It's a film that anyone can enjoy, like you can take the kids to see it, or you can take the uncles and aunties to see it...that's the main thing for me is making a film that everyone can enjoy," said Fepulea'i.

Bryant's film nominated for Oscar

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Tuesday that the Los Angeles Lakers legend's short film, "Dear Basketball," is one of five nominees for this year's Best Animated Short award.

The film was put together by illustrator Glen Keane as an animated version of the letter Bryant wrote to announce his retirement.

"What?? This is beyond the realm of imagination," Bryant posted on Twitter in response to the nomination.

Inside the Fast & Furious arena show

The show will bring film sequences to life in an arena, as well as bring in new elements.

It will debut in London at the O2 in January 2018 before a four-year world tour.

"I just took a few weeks off work and wrote the whole show," writer and creative director Roland French tells Newsbeat.

"I always believed Fast & Furious would make an incredible live show.

"Nobody had asked me to write it."

The Aussie company behind THAT epic Game of Thrones scene

That was the reality for hundreds of staff at Australian visual effects firm Iloura, who were tasked with bringing to life a key battle scene in the latest season of the global phenomenon.

WARNING: IF YOU'RE NOT UP-TO-DATE ON GAME OF THRONES, THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD.

The epic scene in episode four, called The Loot Train, was brought to life by hundreds of staff over seven months.

They added fire, smoke, horses and people to hundreds of shots — though a different firm handled the dragons.

Charlize Theron shines in sexy, violent, beautiful Atomic Blonde

An action thriller of hyper-stylised visuals and a catchy 80s soundtrack, it raises your heartbeat to fight-or-flight levels.

It's also a film that reflects a pattern in Charlize Theron's career, a kind of bratty rejoinder to the demure beauty she embodies as the face of a Dior perfume.

Set in Berlin on the eve of the collapse of Soviet communism, it's the story of MI6 operative Lorraine Broughton (Theron), who is sent to track down a defecting Stasi spy (Eddie Marsan) in possession of a file that could blow the cover of the entire allied spy network in East Germany.

Bend It Like Beckham 15 years on: Inspiring women's football

You would be wrong for thinking Keira Knightley's career is the only one to be launched by the 2002 film.

"That was the film for girls to watch to inspire them to play football," says England's Alex Greenwood.

It certainly inspired the 23-year-old. Her country takes on France in the quarter-finals of Euro 2017 on Sunday.

The Liverpool defender caught up with Newsbeat shortly before flying to the Netherlands.

"I love that film," says Alex. "I mean I watch it back now and it's a little bit cringe but it was the film to watch."

Dwayne Johnson's new 'movie' with Siri

That's what the actor did with "The Rock x Siri: Dominate The Day," an almost four minute long video posted on Apple's You Tube channel.

In it, Johnson plays on the joke that he can do it all -- from bonsai to space travel.

He gets plenty of help from Apple's assistant Siri.

Johnson promoted the project in a tweet on Sunday.

"Teamed w/ @Apple to make the biggest, coolest, sexiest, funnest (is that a word?) movie ever," he wrote in a post. "Drops TOMORROW! #ROCKxSIRI #DominateYourDay."

Sydney Film Festival's Screenability puts spotlight on people living with disabilities

For the first time, films that have been made and acted by people living with disabilities will be a key part of the program.

It has been made possible by Screenability — an arts initiative in New South Wales to help more people with disabilities break into the film industry.

"I think it's really important that you have creatives with disability in charge of that narrative," Sydney Film Festival's Screenability programmer Sofya Gollan said.
