12 Samoan Private Sector Organisations receive grants

The approved annual grant for the FY2020-2021 is part of the Government’s continuous commitment in supporting and strengthening the ongoing development of the Private Sector and its public-private sector partnership.

Minister of Commerce Leatinuu Wayne Sooalo and Chief Executive Officer, Pulotu Lyndon Chu Ling handed over the grants to the representatives of the PSOs.

The recipients have affiliations and are registered with MCIL under the Incorporated Societies legislation.

9 private organisations in Samoa to receive financial boost

The organisations had approached the government for assistance for the development of their businesses.

A Cabinet statement said the Government established this assistance to enhance administrative support for private organisations.

The organisations are required to meet several criteria for selection.

One of them is that the organisation’s membership should at least be 15.

The organisations are also required to submit audited financial reports every financial year as well as submit business development plans to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour.
