Samoa Police arrest 2, seize drugs, firearms in a raid

During the operation yesterday, Police seized 4 utensils, cash totalling SAT$5000.00, 2 firearms (22 & 42 live) 22 bullets and 57grams of marijuana leaves.

Other items confiscated included 4 sildenafils 100mg per tab (viagra), 1 electronic scale,  fake plate numbers (Regulate, 2PAC) , 4 flash drives and 3 hard drives.

Police said the two individuals are in their custody awaiting remand.

Two arrested in Samoa rally stoush

The Human Rights Protection Party organised the rally to highlight judicial decisions it sees as flawed and against the Constitution.

The Samoa Observer reports the arrests were confirmed by Assistant Police Commissioner Auapa'au Logoitino Filipo who also said more arrests will be made as investigations continue.

He said the investigation is also looking at another roadblock at Sasina village and arrests are likely from there.

The arrested pair are facing charges for disorderly conduct in public places.

Two arrested after Chiefs Super Bowl parade incident

Kansas City Police (KCPD) revealed nobody was injured after officers stopped the vehicle just over three hours before the Chiefs are due to tour the city following their dramatic victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Miami on Sunday.

Plumes of smoke came out of the vehicle after police used a pursuit intervention technique to dramatically end the chase.

KCPD say there are no indications of terrorist activity.

Two men in Samoa charged with drugs offence

Police said the two men, who are in their 40s, were arrested when they came to get a parcel containing 5.9 grams of methamphetamine.

RNZI reports the two suspects were charged with possession and importation of an illegal drug.

They will appear in the Supreme Court in two weeks.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Sala'a Moananu Sale has told reporters that inquiries have been made with American Samoa authorities on how the illegal drug got through customs checks.
